Biolustre different from Keratin
MichaelJohn on Ablemarle Street always looks like there is a party going on inside. It’s always really busy and packed with people looking like they are having a great time. This appeals to me as a lot of big salons in London can be quite intimidating and as much as I love a blow dry,I’m not always brave enough to venture into the icy reception area. I have to see what Michael John is all about.
I am booked in for a Biolustre conditioning treatment, which I am told will be great for my sun and sea damaged hair. The treatment mimics your hairs own natural protein and keratin to help rebuild any damage from the inside out, leaving your hair glossy and low maintenance. I like low maintenance. My lovely stylist Kara informs me that this can last for up to 3 months and has an almost cumulative effect – so once you have had the reconstructing treatment a couple of times (and you look after your barnet in the mean time) you shouldn’t have to keep topping it up – maybe just having regular conditioning treatments instead.
Now,I had a Brazilian blow dry a couple of years ago at a different London salon and totally regretted it – this is nothing like a Brazilian blow dry. The process is similar, your hair is washed with an exfoliating shampoo to open the hair follicle and the formula is applied. You are then placed under a very high-tech hood dryer for about 30 – 40 mins while it all gets to work and then it’s washed off (whilst sitting in a cool massage chair). Kara then blow dried and pin curled my hair into perfect bouncy, shiny waves. I loved it. I loved it so much that I have booked in with her again in a couple of weeks for another blow dry. When I left the salon 2 women asked where I got my hair done…that’s what I’m talking about.
I have a couple of pictures, but I don’t really feel that they convey just how sleek and glossy my hair was. 2 days later my hair still looks great.
